Assignment 7: Still Life

The first volume of The Link Newspaper (Sept. 1980-April 1981) is bound in an archive book. The Link Newspaper, Concordia University's independent student publication, has served the Concordia and Montreal community since 1980. The Link Newspaper aims to publish stories focusing on alternative and advocacy journalism, which are often overlooked and not covered by corporate and legacy media. The Link sold special 45th-anniversary hoodies and tote bag merchandise at Drink With The Link in an effort to raise money. From 1980-2000, The Link made over $300,000 per volume in advertisement revenue; currently, due to low enrolment and an advertisement revenue of $13,000 per volume, The Link needs to outsource for external funding to curve budget cuts. On St. Mathieu St. and Blvd. De Maisonneuve Ouest, a stop sign, is covered in stickers and advertisements. A "Steve Creep and the Wildcards" sticker is stuck on the pole's middle.
